Yarning as an Interview Method for Non-Indigenous Clinicians and Health Researchers

In this article, we discuss the origins, epistemology, and forms of Yarning as derived from literature, its use in research clinical contexts. Drawing on three Yarns, article addresses extent to which non-Indigenous researchers clinicians rightfully adapt information-gathering method, or alternatively, may engage yet another form what can be described post-colonialist behavior. Furthermore, argue that while an interview technique, does not necessarily mean they Indigenous methodologies. As note, respectfully interviewing Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander peoples a challenge for researchers.
